Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a cutting-edge fighting art, as well as a self-defense system for men, women, and children alike. Developed from traditional Jiu-Jitsu by the Gracie family, it is famous for its devastating ground techniques. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was specifically developed to allow a smaller person to defeat a larger person by application of leverage techniques. Gaining superior position on your opponent and applying a myriad of chokes, holds, locks, and joint manipulations become the foundation of this martial art.

Submission Grappling

Submission Grappling, also known as "NO-GI" Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, refers to the gripping, handling, and controlling of an opponent without the use of striking, typically through the application of various grappling holds, choke holds, and counters to various hold attempts. It is an important part of both ground fighting and the standing clinch fighting. We give everyone from beginner to advanced, 10 years old and up, the opportunity to learn Submission Grappling for whatever reason they choose in a state-of-the-art facility.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai is the martial art of fighting with your hand, elbows, knees, and feet. "Nawa-attawut" or the 9 principal weapons in Muay Thai include head, 2 fists, 2 elbows, 2 knees, and 2 feet. In addition, there are combination techniques where you use your 2 shoulders, arms, bottom, and outer parts of the ankle. The practice of using both the principal weapons and the combination weapons in Muay Thai requires not only hard work, but the proper steps and great endurance.

This discipline involves rigorous physical training, similar to that practiced by Western boxers. It includes running, shadow boxing, and heavy bag work. Much emphasis is also placed on various drills with Thai pads that weigh 5 to 10 pounds. Our high-energy and fun Muay Thai classes are great for serious fighters, novice training, self-defense, or just getting in shape.

Wrestling

Wrestling is an ancient martial art that uses grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins, and other grappling holds with the goal pinning or out-scoring your opponent. Various styles of wrestling include classic Collegiate, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

MMA is a combat sport that utilizes all of the above fighting techniques. Our instructors are highly trained, impressively skilled, and devoted teachers and students under Renzo Gracie, with extensive backgrounds in standup fighting. Having a solid base from which they teach their students, the Instructors constantly challenge themselves and their students to become and to remain champions.

This training is specifically designed for students who want to join our MMA Fight Team. However, it is also a great program for anyone who wants to learn effective self-defense or improve their physical condition.

Mutual Respect through Training

Law enforcement officers who have had martial arts training with us say they are glad they did it because what they learned helps them in their everyday work. Our martial arts classes provide the updated training law enforcement officers need to maintain their self-defense skills.

Because so many people take our classes, officers also have an opportunity to interact with the community. They get martial arts training with the people they serve, which can create mutual respect. Martial arts is a universal language that brings all types of people together. We believe that if everyone trained, we would have less societal problems because there would be more respect and communication between people.
